Hi, it's Deb again with some information on our direct wired wall mount magnifying mirrors. Before I go any further some people maybe more familiar with the term "Hard Wired" rather than Direct Wired. It is exactly the same thing. The easiest way to understand what either term means, is simply the mirror needs to be wired into the household wiring system by an Electrician.
You can't plug this model into a power point because it does not come with a cable and plug. Hotels use this method as it's nice and tidy with no cables and power points to deal with. Plus it's a little harder for guests to "borrow" for their own use when they leave. We have two models available that have been manufactured as direct wire versions that being the HL8 and the HL85 one being a 3x magnification and the other a 5x magnification. These Halo lighted magnifying mirrors are manufactured so that the wiring that powers the light in the mirror, pokes through the back of the mounting plate then goes on the inside of the wall with the wiring then connected to the house inside the wall by an electrician.
I hope this is of some use to you we currently have new shipments on the way bringing back into stock some of those we have taken off the site. LED88C being one of those.
Hope you all have a great week and remember keep smiling and add some magic to your world.

My Health and Beauty collection of magnifying makeup mirror models have been specifically chosen for their uniqueness and practicality in all situations. Notably they come from the best credentialed suppliers in the marketplace.
Best of all we hold them in our own warehouse in Melbourne. It's not your mind tricking you if you happened to see a particular model in our online shop one minute and couldn't't find it when you came back to look again.
If we are out of stock on a particular model then we remove it from the site so you don't have to go through the motions of enquiring where your order is only to find it's out of stock. Sometimes the mirror will appear back on the site as soon as we have a fixed date of arrival. That date is messaged across the mirror. The less we inconvenience you the better. There are many online stores that do leave their stock online and allow the transaction to go through and will take your money and then send an email saying it's out of stock but it will be in soon. This type of transaction is an inconvenience and a disappointment to you.
We think online shops who do not openly display a phone number for you to call should be avoided. Here at MyHealthandbeauty.com.au we make it easy to call and talk to someone and ask a question with someone who sources, tests and trials every model. Real knowledge on our lines is our secret sauce. It can be just as frustrating for online stores to have a number you can call only to get an assistant who has no idea. With My Health and Beauty our phone people can handle every inquiry. The range in our store is second to none; if you are having difficulty making a decision give our customer service people a call (the number is at the top of the page on the right) and they can help you narrow down on what will be the best for you.
If looking for a magnifying makeup mirror to travel with then make the call. Talk it over to see if you want a travel makeup mirror that is free standing or power suction model. Do you need a light? What if you are not sure a 10x magnifying makeup mirror might be too strong for you?
Our best quality is being as fast as we are able to send your order out. We believe when you buy you should have the goods in your hand as quick as possible. Hence if we receive an order before 1.30pm then goods are express posted on the same day as purchase. We also want you to know that we pack and post the same day as your order which generally means if Australia post is on track you should receive your parcel inside 3 or 4 days at the very worst. Please feel free to nominate a commercial address if you don't wish to receive the dreaded card that tells says "sorry we missed you" card. Our commercial deliveries are delivered by Star Track so no need to wait at home .The team at myhealthandbeauty wants to ensure you have a good experience and making sure customers receive their purchases as fast as possible is part of our plan. If your parcel has not arrived within a week please don't leave it for two weeks before you call. Our systems can get to the issue very quickly why your purchase has not been received.
I see a lot of the online sitestoday and most are cheeky offerings meaning some buy from us at wholesale and re-brand it with their own name and sell at a more expensive price. I really do urge you to do your homework well when it comes to selecting a brand and checking the pricing before you make that purchase. Coupled with the US sites hiding the freight cost to get product into Australia, eBay with their junk offerings, and the Chinese product with no electrical certificates all working hard to have you spend your money. We raise this point because our phone rings constantly with people asking for help.
In all fairness it seems that much of the dissatisfaction has come from customers who bought a "bargain" on EBay. We have noted also that whilst Fishpond looks to be an Australian website it mostly just represents American companies. With that in mind please read the fine print on this site as you will find that whatever the brand magnifying mirror you receive, it will be the American version. If it needs to be plugged in then it will not work on Australian power. Often on these sites there is a small disclaimer to say the mirror has passed all regulations in country of manufacture.
Our callers have said they used a travel adapter to get around the "funny plug" The mirror failed because you can't put 240 volts Australian power into 110 volt American, that's more the twice the voltage and a very easy way to get hurt.
I mentioned earlier about customers who bought from eBay which in some cases you can get a good deal. Enquiry levels on the phone and through the My Health and Beauty site lately have really jumped up regarding replacing a globe or broken magnifying mirror missing parts for a magnifying mirror they bought somewhere. We have been asked what they could do to get an issue fixed as there was almost nobody they could talk to for solving their problem. In all cases we have tried our best to help, who knows they may come back to My Health and Beauty where our loyal customers don't have those issues.
One great tipI can give that really will help you avoid an online overseas purchase is don't just look at the picture, read all the information so you can make a better decision. If you can't see the plug and there is no description then ring or email and ask " what type of plug is it " What is the voltage? What size mirror is it? Lately we have seen many eBay electric LED mirror that comes from overseas and they look a great price it seems the LED light fails rather quickly. It's not the LED globes that fail it's the electronics that fail and that is mostly unfix-able.
Always do your homework, its OK to pay a little but do not expect a lot.
That's all from this week, we have some new lines landing soon which I am excited about but as always we need to see use and play them with first before we put them on sale.
Enjoy your week

Battery lighted magnifying mirrors are well known in the compact handbag field of mirrors but did you know there are wall mounted, vanity, travel, and spot type battery operated magnifying mirrors.
With the advent of LED globes coming in, each of the mirrors mentioned use LED globes because of the low energy consumption. You know when your batteries are getting low the light gets dim. On average batteries last in these type of magnifying mirrors between 1 and 2 years depending on how much use they have. The portability of these types of magnifying mirrors with Halo Lighting is the main attraction.
I have listed below the models in our range along with a small pic and some details. Hope you enjoy.
The vanity LED lighted duel sided mirror the JKLED48 with 8x magnification is the newest model. Cordless in operation as it runs on 4 AAA batteries that will last. This means you can walk round the house because it's completely portable. With LED bulbs using 70% less energy than normal bulbs the batteries have an extended life.Size of the mirror is very good with a halo mirror diameter of 16.5 cm. Overall height is 31cm just right to sit on your vanity not adding to the clutter. It does come in a Satin nickel finish which looks like lightly polished stainless steel. Its finish does not work for everybody however the redeeming quality of Satin Nickel is it does not leave finger marks when using it.
Our LED Lighted 15x spot mirror JKLED15X will be perfect for the handbag. This 15X LED Lighted Spot Mirror features optical quality glass to ensure a clearer reflection of your true self. The 15X magnification is ideal for touch-ups, detail, and everyday make-up application. No matter how dim the environment the powerfully bright, surround lighted LED evenly illuminates any area of your face. And because of the energy-saving LED technology it's able to run on batteries for an extensive amount of time. This versatile and ergonomic design makes it perfect for compact on-the-go travel in your purse or carry-on, plus, it easily mounts to most smooth, flat surfaces via suction cups so you can view yourself and apply make-up completely hands-free. So keep in mind we have two different models the 15x and a 10x version JKLED10X both lighted and color styled.
The only handbag compact in our range is the LEDT01. It is just the right size to fit in your handbag and excellent for everyday touchups it is also your travel magnifying mirror at a pinch. Weighing in at just 280 grams and folds down completely flat and comes with a lighted fold out arrangement it is also the smallest of the range. It folds out quickly and easily into many positions, has two LED lighted mirrors one magnified mirror and one not magnified but both have a halo light you can turn on and off individually. Whilst most bathrooms in public buildings have reasonable light it's when you need to dash from the car into a meeting and you need to check you're looking your best this magnifying makeup mirror with lights is at its best.
When travelling lighted magnifying mirrors can be a lifesaver when you are away from home. Here at My Health and Beauty we are always on the lookout for a mirror that can be used in any circumstance. The LEDTO1 can be held in the hand or sat on a flat surface while you make those last minute touchups. The generous mirror size of 3 1/2 inches or 9cm makes it a whole lot easier than the traditional compacts. When set in the upright position for maximum usage this travel lighted magnifying mirror stands 11 ½ inches or 29cm high. The duel mirror arrangement have a 10x and a 1x magnification allowing close up work or a quick glance overall.
Need a bigger mirror when you're travelling? Or do you just want to leave a makeup mirror in the car or office drawer, the ULT111 is fantastic. I love its size with two fold out makeup mirrors, the bottom unit magnified and lighted. This is a really steady unit as I said the size does it for me at 14cm which is just perfect. It does fold down flat however the best part is because the base is nice and sturdy it will extend out 40cm so that makes it an all-round useful makeup mirror with light available here in Australia.
For a fast portable solution I can't go past the LEDPSC110 lighted power suction makeup mirror when travelling for the main reason it's so light and so handy to just suction on to a mirror or glass or tiles when you're in some strange hotel with poor lighting and only one mirror. I really hate waiting for my husband who is also in the bathroom and I can't use a mirror. It's just so easy to pull out this lighted makeup magnifying mirror turn the dial and it suctions onto the wall and I have a mirror I can see with and put my makeup on without my glasses. I use it with the light on when it's too dark but my favorite is to suction it to the window or glass door and use it with natural light
The final mirror we'll cover today is our Cordless LED Halo lighted wall mount mirror powered by batteries. This solves a problem for those having difficulty putting a magnifying mirror in a bathroom that has a power point in the wrong place. The entry price point for a LED halo lighted mirror is significantly lower than those made for Australian 240volt power. The question on many minds is how long do the batteries last? Well because this mirror uses energy saving LED lighting which consumes 70% less than normal globe mirrors a set of 4 AA batteries will last 2 years. One of the key features of this mirror is the auto off timer which adds convenience and saves your battery power if you walk out and leave the light on. The timer will time out after 5 minutes. This magnifying mirror is double sided with 5x on one side being great for touchups, detail and makeup application while on the side 1x being for perfect for all round hairstyling, cosmetics and anything else in between. If your bathroom is a dim environment the LEDs are powerful enough to illuminate your face and not have a bright light shine in your eyes.
This mirror comes with optical quality glass to ensure a clearer reflection of your face. The mounting will allow the mirror to rotate 360 degrees into any position that work for the user. This mirror has smaller dimensions that will work for many who do not require the bigger lighted models. The actual mirror size is 5.5 inches or 14cm across with the overall measurement including the body of the mirror being 7 inches 17.5 cm wide. The mirror pivots on two arms that will extend out 9.5inches or 24cm from the wall and once finished with will fold neatly flat back against the wall. The mirror comes in satin nickel finish which is like polished stainless steel to look at. The best part about satin nickel finish is it does not show the finger marks like the chrome or gold models do. This is the most requested finish currently in vogue in the US.
This Cordless mirror is the very latest design that is just right for those who take care of how they look when stepping out stylish, practical, high quality the MWLED45.
Well there you have it a quick rundown on our battery operated magnifying mirrors.
Hope you enjoyed that . Its your turn to show the world your beautiful smile.

Hi everyone today's post is touching base on some of the common questions we receive on our magnifying mirror range over the phone.
Actually whilst writing this a common comment by those who call us say it's fantastic to be able to pick up the phone and talk to somebody. They get the right information clarification on their query and some guidance if needed. Next time you're online looking for an item check to see if it's possible to actually talk to somebody, even better, if they are qualified you may save yourself a lot of angst if things go wrong.
A surprisingly common question received is can you put the wall mounted mirrors inside a shower cubicle? Funnily enough the customer often phrases the question a different way by asking if the mirror rusts. The answer obviously is No these mirrors should not be mounted in the shower.
They are fitted with real glass that can shatter if hit with hot water. If someone slips in the shower they may reach out for something to steady themselves with only the magnifying mirror within reach. It can pull the mirror off the wall, the glass will break and possibly hit you on the top of the leg or foot with serious cuts resulting. The mirror will rust if it gets wet every day as it's manufactured from steel with a chrome, nickel or gold finish. In a standard situation where the mirror is located in a normally ventilated bathroom then damage to the surface finish does not become an issue.
To make it easy we do have two models specifically made to mount inside the shower those being the Z850 and the ZW20SS.
For those not understanding the terminology direct wired and hard wired mean the same thing. Our HL8 series halo lighted magnifying mirror is our manufactured direct wired model. Direct wired means an electrician is required to wire the mirror into the power system of the house. These mirrors come complete with the on/off switch on the wall mounting base plate. The HL7 series mirrors sometimes referred to as plug and play when you just need to plug the short white curly cord into a nearby power point.
Please don't take any notice of the images you see online or in our brochures when trying to work out if it's a direct wired model or not the power lead in the image or on the brochure has been photo shopped out to make a cleaner image.
Some customers have called to say their mirror is not the same color as the brochure. When looking at the brochures customers sometimes choose a mirror based on the look or color of the image. When photographing mirrors, the reflective surfaces pick up the surrounding light and as a result the image looks a different color than it actually is. The best guide we can give you is to look at the code and the last letter gives the mirror finish. All codes are printed beside the image on the brochure. For example 7808N meaning it's a nickel finish conversely C for Chrome a G for Gold on other mirrors.
We often get suggestions on what magnification do you suggest. This is a tough one not knowing each person's circumstance. As a general rule if you wear glasses then you will need the higher magnifications from 7x upwards. The middle of the road magnification most common is the 5x so if you are not sure we would start here. Keep in mind a magnification mirror is like a new pair of glasses it will take a couple of use for your eyes to adjust.
With special regard to the large magnifications such as the 10X or the 15X the customer needs to know that to use the mirror, their face needs to be around 10cm or 4 inches back from the mirror surface. This is so the face does not appear distorted but rather gives a clean close up of the face. These mirrors will show every pore or if there are eyelash issues then they become much larger and easy to see.
Whilst we don't actually say so on the site Myhealthandbeauty magnifying mirrors have a range of spare parts available which cover everything from chrome and gold nuts, halo glass mirror for the 3x and 5x range, spare brackets even antifog glass cleaner to give your magnifying mirror that crystal clear finish.
Hopefully you have gained a new insight into magnifying mirror issues that will resolve anything you may have queried about.
Thats it for this week remember if its growth your looking for in your life look outside your comfort zone - My Mantra for the week.

Hi everyone Deb here with an update on one of our magnifying mirror models.
The ever popular 2028C scissor arm magnifying mirror has received an update
after 16 years.
The design of this scissor arm magnifying mirror has been around for many years and reminds us of something you would find in the grand old hotels of the 20's.
The standout design feature of this mirror is the scissor arm action that allows it to extend out from the wall. Jerdon have gone away from the 4x magnification and upgraded it to a 7x magnification. The new model designation is now 2027C. That's a very good mid-range magnification in a large diameter mirror.
This wall mounted model will extend out from the wall further than any other model on the market and with a reach of 60cm. The wall mount bracket has sufficient strength also to allow the mirror to move or swing from left to right 180 degrees. To add to the versatility the mirror itself is double sided and by simply turning the mirror itself you can have either 7x magnification to get close up on what you're doing or 1x to just check everything is in order before you leave.
There has been a trend of late where customers like to mount their magnifying mirror inside a cabinet. With that in mind and in terms of a space requirement the scissor arm magnifying mirror will fold back flat against the wall with the overall dimensions being 41cm high and 235cm. These are the highest and widest points.
We are not really sure of the reason however it's this model that gets continually mounted inside shower cubicles and so a word of warning do not mount the mirror inside the shower cubicle. The mirror is made from glass and a real chance of shattering should hot water hit the surface or you slip and grab for the mirror on instinct. Not only that the metal scissor arm will rust. Chrome, Gold, or Brass plating will not prevent steel from rusting.
Lots of enquiries coming through the phone of late regarding stock and delivery times. It worth repeating here at My Health and Beauty the team go out of their way to be as fast as possible from the time you order till you receive your order. We know other online sites are not as particular on this point.
We are reliant on Australia post and Star Track who are reasonable most of the time. Other times they can be shocking including this week alone it took 3 times for customer to get her mirror with the first one arriving smashed after something heavy was dropped on it. We replaced it only to find the second never arrived at all and is still lost and the third unit has been sent and arrived safely in one piece.
For those enquiring if we have stock, if you can see a magnifying mirror on our site it is in stock when we reach zero stock the item comes off the site meaning you can't see it until restock. Once again we know there are many sites who will sell anything, take the money and apologize later this is not best practice and only pushes customers away from online purchasing.
Finally let me say that you can feel much more comfortable when a phone number is given and you can actually talk to somebody. I know our liaison person Greg does a great job and answers all manner questions to help the customers. I guess that's a great check point for you the customer is if the site has no phone number to ring to talk to somebody or if it's an overseas site with no chance to ask a question then maybe you might be better off avoiding them.
Thats all from me today .
Remember to keep smiling and just do the best you can each day.
